FALL - MPA MEETING MINUTES |
Dear MPA Parents: Here are the minutes to our Fall MPA meeting. Attendance Welcome Conventions - LA Dance Magic - optional attendance, but would like to have all members attend - Jan. 16 - 18, @ Marriott Union Station, cost under $200 per student, Shock convention, in Nashville, a possibility. More info to follow.
Opening routine - Any MPA member can sign up (except Twinkling line) - More info to come via e-mail, cost $50 plus a costume, rehearsals start after January, maybe only 6 lessons to learn choreography
Competitions - 2 weekends in May, usually the first and third weekend of May 2010, more info will be available very soon When arriving for competitions it is important to be there, 1 1/2 hours before their first scheduled performance, have student with make-up and hair all ready to go. Make-up kits available at studio, all must wear the same make-up plus false eyelashes. First teacher arriving at competition will pick the dressing room and all MPA members will be in the same area.
Team photo will be taken on Saturday, October 17th at 3:00pm. Attire: black dance top, black bootie shorts, carmel tights, caramel pedinis or jazz shoes. Hair: low ponytail parted on left side Make-up: light make-up with "red" lipstick If you do not have a pair of caramel jazz shoes or pedinis yet we will find away to take the photo and hide your feet so do not worry. IF YOU HAVE ONE -BRING YOUR TEAM JACKET Cost of pics, 5x7 $8, 8x10 $10
Jackets - Team jackets must be worn to all competitions and conventions. There is a new jacket being designed and will be available to purchase soon. If you already have a team jacket, not necessary to buy new one. Cost $125.
BigSister/LilSister like last year. Your student will need to have a gift for their sister @ first competition, cost $10 - $15. Details will follow.
Pancake Breakfast - Fundraiser. Thanks for the boxes of cereal, circle of concern was very appreciative. With this Pancake Fundraiser, hope to raise funds up to $2000. Most goes back to MPA team members, portion will be donated to Circle of Concern. 4 tickets cost $40, taking orders for tickets, from Denise Biribin. She will be at studio, Fridays between 4:30 and 7:00 or Sats, 8:45 - 9:30. Breakfast is at Applebees, Ballwin, Sat. Nov 7th between 7:00am and 10:30am. Some of the fundraising $$$'s will go to our props. This year we are looking to build stairs for the Rising, Glist, Dazz, and Sensational Tap Teams which some of the teachers are choreographing for a tap routine. We will utilize these stairs for other team members for future routines. A BIG THANK YOU TO SOME PARENTS WHOM ALREADY VOLUNTEERED TO HELP BUILD THE STEPS! Miss Dana will be in touch with all of you shortly, I have Paul (one of our Dads) drawing up a design for us!!!! Exciting!
